How to Add an AI Chatbot with Google Tag Manager
Create a Custom HTML tag in Google Tag Manager containing the one-line script from your agent’s Install tab, trigger it on All Pages, then preview and publish the container.
Step by step
- Copy the code. In your Clipaist workspace open Install and press Copy code.
- Create a tag. In Tag Manager create a new tag of type Custom HTML and paste the line.
- Add the trigger. Use the All Pages trigger.
- Preview and publish. Use Preview mode to confirm the tag fires, then publish the container.
Good to know
- If your site uses a Content Security Policy, allow clipaist.com in script-src and connect-src.
- Consent tools may delay tags until the visitor accepts.
If something does not work
View the page source and search for agent-widget.js. If it is missing, the code is not active or is in the wrong place. If it is there, check Allowed websites in your agent settings (the exact address must be listed, or leave it empty while testing), clear your site cache or CDN, and check that an ad blocker or a Content Security Policy is not blocking scripts.
Script-delay or minify-combine plugins can postpone the widget. Exclude agent-widget.js from those features.
Frequently asked questions
Is Tag Manager better than pasting the line?
It is convenient if you already manage scripts there. Pasting the line in the footer works the same.
